After researching South American witchcraft and occult history, as well as the persecution of witches that began in the 15th century, I came to realize that this is where modern-day stigmas around witches were born. This thesis project, “Witch Bitch,” focuses on these stigmas and how they affect modern-day witches and their craft.
Using photography from Frances F. Denny, as well as various interviews and my own personal experience, I dove deeper into these stigmas and illustrated how they distort society's view of witches and occultists.
