Accident & Injury

Frequently, stories traded back and forth between me and others involve mistakes that have led to bodily harm.
I’ve questioned whether this is due to a lifestyle which has been called “accident-prone,” or if there is something universally relatable about these kinds of experiences.

Physical missteps can be either earth-shattering or entirely inconsequential, resulting in daily occurrences of varying scale and importance.
Accident & Injury is both an interpretive and literal representation of these shared narratives, posed to question whether or not these mistakes are indicative of underlying behaviors and patterns.
A selection of anecdotal experiences is presented both in their entirety and as simplified motifs to help identify shortcomings and blind spots in both communal and personal realms.

These, translated onto readymade military surplus items help to actualize these memories as new artifacts.
